Just a quick one today. I'm having a batch of Schampoo soap bars in the oven right now to help the Cold Processed bars to soapify quicker and be usable already tomorrow - but what's special with this batch is that it used up the last of my 1 kg jar of pure lye. I made my first batch with it in December 2018 and the twelfth and last now in April 2026, so the kilogram has lasted nicely, which is only natural when one only uses 84 grams each time and uses up all the bars between batches.
Also, it seems there was a little more than 1000 grams in the jar. Of course, my kitchen scales only have gram sensitivity, but the leftovers after the first eleven batches should theoretically have been 76 grams, but there were actually 87 grams there, so I recalculated to match it with 203 g water and 520 g coconut oil to get my 10% over-fatted Schampoo soaps.
